He continued, “As the advisor of the bank’s D&I council, conversations with my senior management team revolve around the questions: How can we create a dynamic environment and meaningful initiatives that drive genuine action and change? How do we increase workforce diversity in a genuinely inclusive way to keep pace with the needs of our employees, customers and community?

“While the social and moral imperatives are clear, our D&I strategy also makes the business case for employing and growing talented people with different skills and backgrounds and establishing a structure where people and ideas can thrive.

“We have learned that different opinions, cultures, genders and ethnicities can help us see things from multiple angles with more clarity. These insights underpin our purpose and we cannot truly drive commerce and prosperity without fully embracing our diversity.”
