KUALA LUMPUR: Genetec Technology Bhd, whose share price hit limit-up on Monday, has prompted Bursa Malaysia Securities to query the company over the unusual market activity. At midday, it was up 29.5% or 60 sen to RM2.63 – which was multi-month high. There were 1.68 million shares done. The regulator had queried the company over the sharp rise in price and volume of its shares recently. It directed Genetec to enquire with the directors, major shareholders and other relevant persons, to find out if there was any corporate development which could have caused the unusual market activity. It also queried the company whether there was any corporate development relating to the group’s business and affairs that has not been previously announced that may account for the trading activity including those in the stage of negotiation/discussion.
